my favorites

Now that the formalities have died down and I'm home and quiet and alone for the first time in a few weeks, I wanted to share my favorite photos from the weekend. The other posts were to share in the memories with my family, but if I wanted to show someone the photos I was really most proud of, these would be it. This one may be because I love all of them so much, but I think this shot is great. This whole weekend was a lesson on shooting people and I think it helped that I adored my subjects. I really hope that I've captured their different personalities so well that the casual observer would notice it. If not...oh well, I like it! I love these moments. changes

January is shaping up to be a busy month so my apologies for the absence of posts. I realized yesterday that I haven't picked up my camera since Christmas, but honestly when you look outside at the dark and dreary weather it's easy to understand why. The things going on in my life are much more interesting to me than the view I'm seeing out the window of my office. Big changes for Stacy this month, for one: I have a new car!! I can't even tell you how freakin' excited I am. The tall one bought it for us to travel in, to hike in, to camp in, to FIND PRETTY IN!! Then he up and gives it to me, because he's awesome and knows I'd die in the city without a car. Also this month I shall be moving from the apartment that I haven't slept in since I got my appendix out in October to the house that I've been staying at instead of said apartment. resolutions

Oh so cliche...but after 2009 I'm kinda finding it necessary to create a list of them. Not that this year was terrible, I met and fell in love with an amazing man who showed me dim sum and pho and shared with me a love of beer, together we went to festivals and spent weekends in bed watching BSG and The Wire. However, I became rolly polly, but not in a "I'm comfortable in my relationship and don't have to work at it" kind of way, but more "my boyfriend keeps feeding me all this awesome food and there's so much to do that I have zero time to exercise". When I don't exercise, no matter how well I eat, I blow up like a Macy's thanksgiving day balloon. mmmm...turkey. Anyhoo, since I love hiking so much and I'd prefer being able to climb up a mountain without my boyfriend a 1/2 a mile ahead of me skipping up the trail carrying all our gear because I can hardly make it up the swtichbacks then I better join a damn gym.
