rain, hookers and herbs

Frank: I told my wife I wouldn't drink tonight. Besides, I got a big day tomorrow. You guys have a great time.
College Student: A big day? Doing what?
Frank: Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Oh yeah...that was us this weekend. It was two days of errand running, hair cuts, dentist appointments, rain, napping, a trip to the nursery and then dinner at the parent's house. I did get a few pictures in and, while anxiously waiting for the tall one to return in the pouring rain with my Chipotle burrito bowl, I even took some video.

I love Aurora Ave. Between the strip malls, hookers, bikini barista stands, strip clubs and casino's there's always something to do!

I kid...I kid...

Well, that's it kids. We'll be flying off on Saturday so I doubt I'll have any time to post until next weekend. Keep up with my travels by becoming my friend on Facebook! Mahalo!

For our upcoming trips we have a plan...a devious plan...but a totally adorably awesome plan and part of it came in the mail today!!

coming out

I went through 10 sheets of paper before I finally got the dimensions right. It prints a 2x3 print that is also...A STICKER!! I'm like a little girl with this thing. I might as well have just bought the pink one and stuck a Hello Kitty sticker on it.

pogo test

It prints via bluetooth, so of course my iphone won't sync with it. Heaven forbid Apple actually make a product that works with non-apple hardware. However it's easy to get around if you've got a computer. I just e-mailed the pics to myself and actually I'm glad I did because it took a little editing in photoshop to get the shots to print out in full.

The coolest part is I can hook up my Nikon to the printer, do some in camera editing, and print straight from the D90. This will not only be great for our little devious travel plan but also when traveling in Europe. Most people in other countries will allow you to take their picture, but it's best to have a printer on hand to give them a copy.

soooo excited!! you shall see the results of trial run of the plan after we return from Hawaii.

brunch and a snowball fight

After driving all the way to Mt. Vernon on Saturday you'd think I'd want to lay in bed all day watching Mad Men...and actually, I did want to. Unfortunately I woke up hours before the tall one did and while waiting for him to awake I became

Luckily he knows to shuttle me to food as soon as possible when I'm grumpy face. We threw on some clothes and wandered the couple blocks to Blue Dog Kitchen on the Ave.

blue dog kitchen

We attempted another cafe first after seeing it a few evenings ago and noticing they had brunch. However their selections were mostly quiches and biscuits and gravy. Not even Bon Iver playing on the radio could get us to stay, we were in the mood for a big breakfast, so over to Blue Dog we went.

I got a little buzz from the coffee while waiting for breakfast to arrive. We also played peek-a-boo with a little boy sitting at the next table.

pancakes = yummy

Now in food coma mode our previous idea to drive up to see snow seemed daunting, but we pushed on...and I'm glad we did. Even if I did get pushed face first into the snow by my lovely boyfriend.
